Privacy Policy

Tinta is a desktop application for reading and editing Markdown files and exporting them to PDF or HTML. Your privacy is a priority, and this policy clearly explains how your data is handled.

We do not collect data

Tinta does not collect or transmit any personal data. The application runs entirely on your device (offline).

• There are no user accounts or sign-ins.
• There are no analytics, telemetry, or trackers.
• No connections are made to external servers.
• The files you open and the documents you export remain on your device; Tinta never sends them anywhere.

File access

Tinta only reads files that you explicitly select through the system Open dialog or by opening a file with the app. It only saves changes and PDF or HTML exports to the location you choose. This access occurs within the secure macOS sandbox.

Local drafts

While a new document has not yet been saved as a file, Tinta keeps a draft only in the app's local storage so it can be recovered when you reopen the app. The draft is deleted when you open or save a file. The Clear button also removes it.

Third parties

Tinta does not integrate third-party services that collect data.

If this policy changes, this page will be updated with a new “last updated” date.
